The Worst Fires in California History
San Diego County's been declared in a state of emergency. There are still several thousand people out of their homes and over a billion dollars in property damage, so please continue to send your thoughts this way as San Diego will be rebuilding for quite some time.

NOT JUST SMOKE, BUT I ALSO SMELL A RAT?
Many of us felt something was coming this month, sure enough - "The Worst Fires in California History". I told my students to stay alert and centered, particularly during Vigilant Shield, a military drill between October 14 - 20 (refer below).
I told them, it is essential to hold as high a frequency as possible so that we go beyond the lower matrix's reach and control. Release habitual reactions and addiction to materialism. The more we react with FEAR & DENIAL the more power we give away to the lower matrix. It's an ILLUSION. Instead, use your "ability to respond" and take back your power to transcend the illusion. Neo (in the movie "MATRIX") did it, so can you.
As I reflect on the last 5 days, it is also important to take responsibility (ability to respond) for OUR CONSCIOUSNESS which created this drama forcing us to go beyond the lower matrix of fear and material addiction.
Kudos to the many who were able to find resourcefulness, love, and peace through the 2007 fires of Southern California. The lessons learned have been enormous.

Arson, looting, firefighter impersonation arrests
San Diego:
The San Diego County Sheriff's Department reported today that authorities had arrested two people on suspicion of arson in Vista. They also arrested someone for allegedly impersonating a firefighter in Fallbrook. Two people were placed into custody on looting charges near Tecate on the U.S.-Mexico border.
The two arrested in the arson case -- one juvenile, one adult -- allegedly set a fire that burned a small patch of grass before it was extinguished.
The looting arrests involved two people seen leaving a burned-out home with a large bag. The arrests were made by sheriff's deputies and Border Patrol agents.
In Fallbrook, William Brock, 44, on probation from Los Angeles on a drug conviction, was accused of impersonating a firefighter, officials said. They said Brock was wearing a blue shirt with the word "firefighter," and was dressed in fire gear and had attached a hose to a fire hydrant. He claimed to be from the Morongo Valley Fire Department, officials said.

FBI: al-Qaeda detainee spoke of fire plot
PHOENIX (AP) — The FBI alerted law enforcement agencies last month that an al-Qaeda terrorist now in detention had talked of masterminding a plot to set a series of devastating forest fires around the western United States.
Rose Davis, a spokeswoman for the National Interagency Fire Center in Boise, told The Associated Press that officials there took note of the warning but didn't see a need to act further on it.
The contents of the June 25 memo from the FBI's Denver office were reported Friday by The Arizona Republic. Davis declined to share a copy of the memo and an FBI spokeswoman in Denver didn't immediately return a telephone call.
The Republic reported that the detainee, who was not identified, said the plan involved three or four people setting wildfires using timed devices in Colorado, Montana, Utah and Wyoming that would detonate in forests and grasslands after the operatives had left the country.
The memo noted that investigators couldn't determine whether the detainee was telling the truth.
The newspaper said many forest law enforcement officers it contacted had no idea the warning had been issued.

The 911 Truth Movement is spearheading the cry for greater transparency, for good reason. Many people have seen the fact that these types of drills have had a strange habit of mysteriously and spontaneously "going live". The examples cited are September 11th, 2001 and the London Bombings of 7-7-05.
On the morning of 9/11/01, US northeastern air defenses were crippled by a Cheney-Rumsfeld production that combined at least four exercise scenarios -- Vigilant Warrior, Vigilant Guardian, Northern Guardian and Northern Vigilance -- and which, per script, diverted to northern Canada or Alaska many of the NORAD fighter jets that would have been scrambled per standard operating procedure in the event of a suspected hijacking. And the few planes left out of the exercise were not airborne until 80 minutes after the first hijacking alert -- about 70 minutes longer than normal.
As part of the exercises, false radar blips showed up on air traffic controllers' screens that masked the flight patterns of the four hijacked jets and led controllers to believe that as many as 22 planes had been hijacked. Per standard procedure, various regional air traffic control centers notified the FAA, which passed on the alerts to NORAD, which couldn't respond because they hadn't enough fighters available to handle that many hijackings. Because of the ongoing drills, they didn't even know which blips represented actual threats.
Also noteworthy is a fifth exercise taking place at the same time, this one conceived by the National Reconnaissance Office (the NRO operates the US network of spy satellites) and carried out by CIA operatives. This exercise was designed to test emergency response capabilities in the event that an off-course plane crashed into one of the NRO's four office towers.
The name "Vigilant Shield" brings to mind "Vigilant Guardian," the 9/11/2001 Air Force exercise that pulled away fighter aircraft supposed to guard mainland America and sent them off to counter a simulated Russian attack in Alaska. Vigilant Guardian may also have been simulating hijacked aircraft, thereby confusing the few remaining fighter aircraft guarding us. Given that Vigilant Guardian was anything but a vigilant guardian on the day of the last U.S. terror attack, just how reassured should we feel by the feel-good name of Vigilant Shield?
On that day, multiple Government agencies including FEMA, the FBI, CIA, National Guard, The United States Air Force, NORAD, the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), Department of Defense (DoD), Civilian Air Traffic Controllers and multiple other agencies were all participating in fifteen simultaneous emergency exercises – drills, some of which the master scenario involved hijacked airliners crashing into the World Trade Center towers in New York City, the Pentagon in Washington DC, and several other coincidentally strange targets, like Dulles International Airport. Strange, because George W. Bush's younger brother Marvin P. Bush was principal in a company called SecuraCom (now Stratesec) that had an ongoing contract to handle security for the World Trade Center, United Airlines, and Dulles International Airport. Flight 77 (the plane that supposedly hit the Pentagon) left from Dulles International Airport at 8:20am.
Oddly, the 9/11 Commission barely mentioned these exercises, citing only one in a footnote and ignoring the rest. Now to London. On 7/7/05, the private firm Visor Associates ran a mock bombing drill involving three train stations and a double-decker bus. As the exercise began, bombs exploded at those same three stations and, about an hour later, on that same bus route.
The growing concern about a futuristic Martial Law reality
The rationales and blueprints for implementation of martial law are already on the books. Reasoning that the USA PATRIOT Act(s) and the Military Commissions Act weren't quite repressive enough, on May 9, 2007, Bush issued a document entitled "National Security Presidential Directive/NSPD 51" and "Homeland Security Presidential Directive/HSPD-20." This directive outlines the federal government's plan for maintaining continuity in the face of a "catastrophic emergency."
The document defines a --catastrophic emergency-- as --any incident, regardless of location, that results in extraordinary levels of mass casualties, damage, or disruption severely affecting the U.S. population, infrastructure, environment, economy, or government function.-- Well, that certainly narrows things down.
If any of these events occurs, Bush grants himself the power to lead the entire federal government, not merely the executive branch. And, recognizing his veneration of constitutional law, he graciously gives himself sole responsibility --for ensuring constitutional government.
Local Preparations VS. Federal Preparations
Regardless of your position on the Bush Administration and the War on Terror, the key element within all of these drills is a dependency on the government. These is very little oversight into their drills and the information gathered. Instead of being shared with the local governments, our local police and authorities are being training in these drills to work under the federal government and their contractors in the case of a disaster. Most Portlanders remain unaware of the basic facts of this drill and are no more prepared the week after Topoff 4, then they were a week before the drill.
Most alarming, is the lack of education on the national and local level on how to take care of yourself without aid from the government and it’s growing multiple agencies. This is of grave concern for anyone who believes that these threats are real. The message being sent from locals in the Portland 911 Truth movement is very clear.
"If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear." They tell us this mantra regularly in the post 911 world, now it’s our turn.
John Ellis, the President's first cousin, to analyze election exit-poll results. Lo and behold, Fox was the first network to declare erroneously that Bush had won the election, prompting the avalanche that followed. We now also know that Ellis was discussing confidential exit-poll information with his cousins throughout election night. At Congress's mid-February hearings on election night coverage, Ailes said in his prepared testimony that Ellis was merely acting as "a good journalist talking to his very high-level sources."
But the bias didn't stop there. Peter Hart of Fairness & Accuracy in Reporting notes that after Bush was named the winner of the election, "on Fox, the question was posed as, 'Will Bush compromise or will he stand tough on his principles?'" On December 17, for example, Snow asked Bush Chief of Staff Andrew Card: "Now, the President-elect says that he wants to reach across the partisan divide, and a lot of people are interpreting that as meaning that he has got to water down his views to appease liberal Republicans and Democrats. Is that what he's going to do?"
This blending of news with right-wing partiality dismays many Fox employees. Although staffers say they don't receive direct orders to include or ignore stories for political purposes, "I've been at editorial meetings," says one Fox News Channel employee who did not want to be named. "Certain stories fly and certain stories don't. I'm not blind and neither are my colleagues. Everyone is aware that something is at work.
There's a reason that there's a perception that Fox leans to the right."
A manager at the Fox News Channel who's been in broadcast news for six years and who also declines to be identified says the tilt is reflected in the enterprise pieces aired. "The ideas come from the bureau chiefs, and they want to get their reporters on the air, so they're going to pitch stories that management will approve." Says Sarah Barrows, a former production assistant and booker at the Fox News Channel, "They know who their audience is, and they pick stories based on that." Barrows, now an associate producer at Oxygen Media, says that during the Clinton impeachment investigation, for example, "that story probably led nine out of ten times." The Whitewater investigation was another popular front-runner.
"Fair and balanced? Give me a break," says a former Fox producer. "During the Clinton impeachment--which they were just loving--it was OK to run a Newt Gingrich soundbite by itself. But if you ran a soundbite by a Democrat you also had to run a soundbite by a Republican." Though this producer had worked at CBS News and at an ABC affiliate, "I had never experienced a newsroom that was that conservative." Fox management's far heavier hand than at other networks is in part a reflection of the fact that Murdoch owns 30 percent of the stock of News Corporation; the other major television networks are all owned by large corporations with widely held shares.
...Murdoch has done something ingenious: He's created an entertaining news channel that disseminates his viewpoint far and wide and also makes good business sense. It costs far less to get two people to snipe at each other on the air than to pay reporters and producers to dig up real news.
